About Hudsons Plant Centre

From colourful roses to gorgeous geraniums, there are a huge variety of great quality plants at Hudson’s Plant Centre.

It all started at our site in Derby, overlooking the beautiful Derbyshire countryside in Duffield by two brothers who have a passion for high quality plants at reasonable prices.

All our plant displays, not only look fantastic, but have informative information on the plants. Not forgetting our friendly staff are always on hand to offer guidance and advice.

We also have an undercover plant building, allowing you to view our plants whatever the weather!

Nice garden centre, some very good bargains and if you do not mind to wait a little bit on a busy time (round 20-30 Min) depending on what you order also a nice meal out opportunity. Try their cakes you will not be disappointed!

Great garden centre, lots of great plants and accessories one would need including a good shed selection. What let it down for me was the coffee... Seeing a coffee machine in a cafe is bonus, you could be in for a decent drink. However whist standing in line I noticed the exceptionally filthy bean hopper on top of the grinder as the young man behind the counter added new beans to the old. That was an instant avoid, it's like adding fresh milk to a jug of milk that is nearly empty! As I moved through the line I watched the coffee prep, no tamping of the portafilter (even though there was a tamper present) and straight under the group head. I counted 3-4 seconds for the first shot to be extracted and 6 seconds for the second shot! The coffee would be under extracted and tasted foul. It's sad that cafe shops are purchasing espresso machines and not investing time in understanding, training staff and utilising them correctly. An espresso should take around 25-30 seconds to pull give or take the recipe for the bean being used and the grinder should be dialed in each morning to make sure the shots being pulled are not under or over extracted as the bean deteriorates over time and so the grind settings need to change to compensate this....
